New York City Skyline at Night with Mom

New York City Skyline at Night with Mom

I was in awe of The New York City Skyline this trip. The unique weather conditions had blown out all the stuff normally floating in the Air around “The City”. This visit we enjoyed a totally unobstructed view of the city for the first time ever, Both Day and Night…

The sunset this night was incredible… (Photo’s to follow in a Day or Two)

This was the Last Photo of the Night. I was in the mood for an artsy shot. So I asked mom to Pose with her camera and that unbelievable skyline. In the Lower right is my shadow with the camera pointing towards the Empire State Building. Those long white streaks in the shot are passing Helicopters. If you look close at the railings you can see the graffiti…

This was my favorite Photo of the Trip…

New York City Skyline at Night… What can I say…

New York City Skyline at Night… What can I say…

After Two weeks in the Hospital, Mom was in desperate need of some fresh Air. I thought a quiet dinner at the Charthouse in Weehawken, NJ then a few photo’s from the pier would be fun. It offers unobstructed views of the NYC skyline and especially The Empire State Building. Dinner with a View. what Fun… Click Here for Map.

I have never had the opportunity to work the NYC skyline at Night. After Dinner I took two Photographs, Both the same Photo, second one as a backup, just in case. Then we headed home. After all it was Mom’s first day out…

The Sunshine Skyway Bridge in Twilight

The Sunshine Skyway Bridge in Twilight

I have always found the Sunshine Skyway to be one of the most elusive Landmarks to Photograph. Getting the right lighting, clouds, and weather plus getting the lights on the top of the span to all cooperate is a full time job.

While driving home from the office on Friday night, November 11th, 2008, we noticed that the clouds were tall and billowy. The light was exceptional. The weather was picture perfect. The Paint job and lights on the bridge were all brand new. After Years of chasing the Skyway with Lori (In memoriam 1960 – 2008), we finally got some awesome shots of this, the most magnificent of all bridges.

This HDR Photograph was taken from the South Fishing Pier during the brief 24 minutes of Twilight we get here in Florida… with my dearest Lori by my Side…

Tomorrow I’ll Post the Sunset Shot.

Main Street Bar Harbor, ME in Twilight

Main Street Bar Harbor Downtown ME in Twilight

When Lori (In memoriam 1960 – 2008) and I had originally planned our Maine trip for Fall 2008. We had planned on visiting Bar Harbor if we had some spare time. We first went to see Moose near the Baxter State park. Then it was off to Bar Harbor. Our First time there… Bar Harbor info site: http://www.barharborinfo.com/

Bar Harbor is now tops on my list of Must See Places. When driving into town you pass thru the Arcadia National Forest. It has trails, carriage roads, Lighthouses, little quaint towns all over and More. Great Fun.

Arcadia National Forest Web site: http://www.nps.gov/acad/

Bar Harbor is this Oasis. Right in the middle of one of Mother Natures most wonderful playgrounds. Boats, and Boats to Lighthouses only accessible by water, Shopping, Dining, clubs, Music, Breweries, you name it’s there…

Lori had told me she always wanted to go to Maine to see Moose. Lori especially loved the Moose. So Kidding with her I said “Look Lori, it’s Bullwinkle on the top of that restaurant”. When she saw the Neon Moose on the Top of Geddy’s, she personally supervised me taking this picture.  This was one of her favorite pictures from our visit to Bar Harbor…

Gateway to Yosemite Valley during Twilight in Heavy Fog after all night Storm- Yosemite National Park, CA

There are times in you life when you are at the right place at the right time. I have had a love for Twilight photography since my Trip to Alaska last year. Where ever I travel I always have to squeeze in a twilight shoot.

I captured this photograph on a Fall trip to the Yosemite National park, my first time visiting. I did all the touristy stuff. Then after a foggy stormy night, I arose to this incredible Foggy Twilight scene. I quickly grabbed my camera gear and headed onto the rocks in the middle of the Merced river and set up for the shot.

This Photograph of the Gateway to the Yosemite Valley with El Capitan, Bridelveil Falls and Half Dome all encased in Fog with the first hints of sunlight peaking thru on the mountain tops and in the center of the valley left me speechless. In foreground is the Merced River that flows thru the Yosemite Valley, with these little tuffs of long grass everywhere.

I was moved that such a beautiful place exists and that we were there to witness this magical scene.

This is my Favorite, Personal Fog shot of all time. Tomorrow is a Fog shot commemorating Veterans Day and My Favorite Fog shot of all time.
